This photo sums up my experience in Paris. Sheer wow-ness.
I went in March with some friends and co-workers at Southern Virginia University (my current workplace as a graphic designer and my alma-mater), and it was a truly inspiring experience. The art, architecture, food… gosh, I’m really missing it just thinking about it.
To fund my trip, I started a GoFundMe campaign, and I was really overwhelmed by the support people showed me. I promised everyone some original art as thank you gifts, which I will be sending soon (I know, its now June and I need to get on the ball). A special thank-you to all the generous people who helped make my trip possible.
Here are some photos from my trip.

First of all, special thanks to my friend Alec Johnson for building this new site! I’ve got some really exciting projects ahead and I’m thrilled to have a fresh, new design to showcase them. Which leads me to the really big news: I’m going to be an author. For the first time, I will be illustrating a book that I have also written, and it will be released in December. I really cannot wait! I will keep this site up to date with all the developments.
To inaugurate the new coreyegbert.com, here is my latest personal piece, Refuge. It is part of a series of fantastical architecture pieces (you can see more on my Instagram). This was inspired by a sailing trip I took across the Long Island Sound ten years ago. I remember seeing a strange building in the distance perched on a rock in the water. I was curious about who may live or work inside it. I am intrigued by the mystery of buildings I will never explore. I leave it to you to imagine who lives here.
